This organizer is a combination of the Details Tree and Imagery Charts. The clusters on the tree provide space to record observations for each of the five senses.
In the space around the eye, write down what you or the character of the story sees. This could be used while reading a story or to record scientific observations. Students could also pretend to be a figure from history and record observations.
For this organizers students are given a topic, and after brainstorming, they make lists of what they would see and hear while observing or participating in it. They could practice using sensory detail in writing, write from a character or historical figure’s perspective or anything that involves focusing on sights and sounds.
